County, Townships and Municipalities Receive Over $9 Million for Transportation

Sixteen townships and 24 municipalities in Kane County will receive over $6 million from the state as the final installment of the Rebuild Illinois program. Kane County will receive $2.8 million.
The state recently announced that the sixth and final $250 million installment was made to counties, municipalities and townships statewide to address local transportation needs. In Kane County, 16 townships will receive a total of $301,971.55 and 24 municipalities will receive a total of $5,973,258.06.
The Rebuild Illinois capital program is investing a total of $1.5 billion to advance projects in 2,856 counties, municipalities and townships.
Projects include road and bridge improvements, traffic signal upgrades, new storm sewers and bike paths, sidewalk replacements and other long-term maintenance needs, with financial oversight from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
