Kane County Animal Control Pet of the Week - Sienna
She has a face made for kisses and a squat little body made for hugs while her eyes give off a “poor me" look beseeching someone to take her out of her cage. As adorable as she is, she doesn't take great photos, but she makes up for that with her extremely outgoing personality.
Once she's out of her cage, she becomes a jumping bean, chasing toys down the hallway. Stuffed toys are her absolute favorites. She will play all day if you have the time because she definitely has the energy!
Her name is Sienna and she is a 4-month-old tan and white spayed female Pit Bull and Cane Corso mix. She knows nothing about the ins and outs of life, but despite getting abandoned at a forest preserve, she only has love in her heart, especially when she's playing with KCAC staff members.
Sienna gets very excited when she meets new dogs. Like a shy school girl at her first dance, she is a little awkward in her first encounter, but she will play bow first and then jump around while her tail never stops wagging.
Taking a training and socialization class will give her the boundaries and cues she will need in order to learn how to mix and mingle with other dogs.
Bully breeds may not need more training than other breeds, but they definitely need training that will sustain them throughout their life. Too many of these dogs are euthanized because their owners never took the time to train them properly or socialize them with other dogs.
Sienna seems to be the perfect age to begin her puppy training which will give her the foundation she needs for the rest of her life. It's awesome to think she might even wind up with a brother or sister who she can play with, follow around and learn the ropes.
From a lonely abandoned puppy to a home full of love, that's what we wish for Sienna.
