KCAC Pet of the Week: Sailor
She hasn't sailed the seven seas and she's not finding Nemo or stalking Moby Dick. But her-story begins with “once upon a time" she had a home, then went to a rescue and then, for whatever reason, she became a stray, eventually, winding up at KCAC.
And all of that within her first two-years of life.
Her name is Sailor and she's a 2-year-old, black and white Siberian Husky. She has the intelligent, mischievous blue eyes that are so prevalent in the husky breed—the ones that bore holes into your soul.
She has a lot of hair that needs to get brushed on a daily basis. And that's where Sailor's attributes of a “typical" husky ends because Sailor is…quiet.
She doesn't bark or howl or whine her displeasures at the top of her lungs for everyone to hear like some huskies. Instead, she waits quietly at her cage door in the morning, ready for breakfast, ready for the day to begin.
She's not a big fan of stuffed toys or toys in general. She would much rather take walks with a staff member or play with older children who might come to visit her with their parents.
Sailor likes to take naps. She enjoys going back to sleep after all the festivities in the early morning are over. She will make such a good cuddle buddy as the day winds down and everyone gets settled in for the night—after she runs her zoomies, of course.
Sailor is ready to pull up anchor and sail into your heart.
