Kane County National Preparedness Month Touch-A-Truck Event
Kane County is celebrating National Preparedness Month in September with a free Touch-A-Truck event on September 14 from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. at the Kane County Judicial Center in St. Charles.
Each September, National Preparedness Month encourages everyone to be prepared for disasters or emergencies in their homes, businesses and communities.
The Kane County Office of Emergency Management (OEM), along with other emergency response teams in the area including North Aurora Emergency Management Agency, Aurora Emergency Management Agency, St. Charles Emergency Services, Geneva Emergency Services and Elburn and Campton Hills Area Community Emergency Response Team will have a variety of vehicles on display for kids of all ages to see and explore.
In addition, children can talk with first responders from the area to learn more about the emergency vehicles and what they do during emergencies. Informational tables also will be set up so the public can learn how to be more prepared for emergenceis and disasters.
