Kane County Animal Control Pet of the Week: Meet Hammi!
“Dogs like everyone. Cats choose who to like." – Lauren Myracle, author of young adult fiction
Who is that cute little black and white 3-year-old Domestic Shorthair coming around the corner?
Why, it's Hammi, a charming little feline with a heart as big as her appetite!
Aptly named for the food that enticed her into her rescuer's cat carrier, Hammi adores spending time with humans, but she's not so hyped on sharing her space with other cats. She prefers to be the one-and-only feline in the family.
At first sight, you might notice this front-pawed declawed little girl is a bit overweight for her size, but she is making concerted efforts to lose those extra pounds. She hopes her fur-ever family will keep up the healthy habits she's taken on over the last few weeks.
Hammi isn't the type of cat to zoom around her surroundings. Rather, she prefers to spend her time sitting next to her forever family, sharing the events of the day with them and getting a few pets along the way.
Of course, Hammi needs to be the center of attention and in return, she will share her affectionate and caring nature with her new family. It's a win-win!
