Kane County Animal Control Pet of the Week - Elodie

“Dogs are like kids. Cats are like roommates." – Oliver Gaspirtz, German-born award-winning cartoonist and author

Spend some time with Elodie, a spayed 1-year-old gray and tan Domestic Medium-haired feline brought to KCAC as a stray, and you might just shake your head in amazement at how strikingly beautiful she is. It definitely begs the question—how could this gorgeous cat ever have been a stray?

Her whiskers stretch out beyond her round little face, making her head seem fuller and fluffier. Cool, green eyes stare back at you with a seemingly “all knowing" look, as well as a gaze that could put you into a hypnotic state.     elodie2.jpg

Her name is Elodie (rhymes with “melody"), which is a beautiful French name bestowed on females. The name alludes to wealth or riches, which actually fits her well because she seems as though she could be right at home sitting on the laps of kings and queens.

When someone enters the room, she takes her time getting to them, even performing a number of yoga stretches along the way. A few scratches under her chin in tandem with treats and Elodie is ready to become your best friend.

When you first pet her, you'll notice how extremely soft she is. It's almost like petting a cloud. She enjoys getting pets because she knows that this is the life she was meant to have.

She doesn't seem to like other cats, so as perfect and beautiful as Elodie is, she should get adopted into a home with no other pets.

It's definitely a blessing that Elodie is only 1-year-old because she will have many, many years of sharing her 9 lives with her new family. More pets, please!

KCAC Pupdates

Congratulations to Pretzel, the puppy that was found as a stray. His new family, including his new brother, was so happy to finally give him his fur-ever home.

Pretzel gave everyone in the lobby who was there to see him off a bunch of kisses. When he was finally in his new dad's arms, he cuddled up into him and kept giving him kisses, as well.
