Kane County Animal Control Pet of the Week - Band-Aid

KCAC's Adorable, Adoptable Pet of the Week is written by Tecla Metzel of Kane County Animal Control. 10/13/2024 9:00AM

“A meow massages the heart." – Stuart McMillan, Scottish politician

She was so small, just a baby with eyes barely open. She was found as a stray along with her brothers and sisters. Band-Aid was so much smaller than her siblings, so she was placed in her very own kennel so she could put on a little more weight.

With the care she got from KCAC's kennel staff and veterinarian, Band-Aid got a little bigger, gained some weight and was finally able to get spayed. Her cute gray self is 4-months-old now and she's ready, willing, and able to be adopted.

Kittens love playing, exploring and, basically, getting into as much trouble as possible, and Band-Aid is no exception. It's almost as though once she was able to open her eyes, her world rose up to meet her.

Band-Aid has no fear of other cats as she concentrates on giving her them a run for their money. When she was just a baby, she would attempt to get to the front of the cage for petting sessions, but her siblings would push her out of the way.

Well, no one puts Band-Aid in the corner! Even though all of her siblings have been adopted, she now makes sure to give some of the older cats at the shelter some of the same moves her siblings gave to her. It's all in kitten-fun. No hard feelings.

Band-Aid is looking for a family willing to let her be a kitten, willing to let her play and grow into a fun-loving little feline.

KCAC Pupdates

Congratulations to Penny, the 7-year-old Pit Bull-mix with the sweet disposition. Penny has been at KCAC since July, waiting to find her forever home. Passed over time after time for younger, smaller dogs, Penny was beginning to think her new family would never find her.

It pays to be patient because Penny was finally adopted! Everyone at KCAC was super excited! With a lot of hugs and pets and good wishes, Penny strolled out the door for the last time and onto the road to freedom and a new home!   We love you, Penny!
