The Kane County Board recognized Ream's Meat Market in Elburn,  with a proclamation in honor of its 70th anniversary. The Board expressed its gratitude to the Ream family for their contributions and commitment to Kane County, celebrating this milestone and wishing them continued success for generations to come.



PROCLAMATION CELEBRATING THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF

REAM'S MEAT MARKET IN ELBURN

WHEREAS, Ream's Meat Market, a family-owned business based in Elburn, Illinois, is celebrating its 70th anniversary, a significant milestone that reflects a legacy of quality meats and exceptional service; and

WHEREAS, originally established as the "Elburn Market" in 1904 by Fred Swarz, the building has proudly served as a butcher shop for an impressive 120 years, laying the foundation for Ream's enduring success; and     

WHEREAS, on September 30, 1954, Bob Ream purchased the Elburn Market, marking the beginning of the Ream family's stewardship and commitment to providing the community with high-quality meats; and

WHEREAS, under Bob and Phyllis Ream's leadership and today under the leadership of their son Randy and his sons Joel and Stew, Ream's Meat Market has grown from a small shop with an eight-foot retail meat case into a thriving market with an extensive product line, employing approximately 80 staff members and serving a customer base nearing one million; and  

WHEREAS, Ream's Meat Market has established a reputation for its commitment to quality and innovation, while honoring family traditions and craftsmanship, making it a cornerstone of the community and a leader in the meat processing industry; and

WHEREAS, Ream's continues to support other local businesses by offering a wide range of local products from the across the region; and

WHEREAS, the Kane County Board recognizes the importance of family-owned businesses like Ream's Meat Market in contributing to the local economy and enhancing community spirit;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board hereby honors Ream's Meat Market on the occasion of its 70th anniversary, commending the Ream family for their dedication to quality and service over the decades and wishing them continued success in the years to come.
