Global Recognition for West Aurora SD 129 Curriculum Coordinator
A West Aurora School District 129 staff member has been named a 2022 Emerging Leader by an international educational organization.
Dr. Christine Anderson, curriculum coordinator for multilingual learners in West Aurora SD 129, was one of only 21 individuals throughout the world chosen by the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD).
The ASCD Emerging Leaders program contains a diverse group of educators who have been in their field for five to 15 years and have made an impact in their schools, districts, and communities. Emerging leaders gain access to networking and learning opportunities and are prepared for future leadership roles, including opportunities within ASCD.
"ASCD celebrates outstanding young leaders in education through its Emerging Leaders program," ASCD Senior Director for Constituent Services Walter McKenzie said. "Especially in these transformational times, supporting our next generation of leaders is critical to their success and the success of public education."
Members of the new class are invited to participate in multiple opportunities, including invitation-only convenings, writing for ASCD publications, and leading groups in the ASCD Professional Learning Community. Emerging leaders are also able to explore several leadership pathways within ASCD and alumni from the program have become ASCD authors, faculty members and board members.
