Kane County Board Honors Women's History Month with Proclamation and Recognition

The Kane County Board celebrated Women's History Month, recognizing the contributions of the women who live in, work and serve the county. A proclamation was read honoring their leadership, dedication, and impact across all sectors of the community. From public servants and business owners to educators and volunteers, their efforts continue to strengthen Kane County every day.

PROCLAMATION FOR NATIONAL WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH 2025

IN KANE COUNTY

           WHEREAS, March is recognized as National Women's History Month, a time to celebrate and honor the remarkable achievements, contributions, and leadership of women today and throughout history; and

WHEREAS, Kane County is home to nearly 515,000 residents, with women comprising half of the population; and

WHEREAS, in 2025, Kane County highlights the outstanding achievements of women in public service, including the seven women who serve as countywide elected officials, whose leadership and vision propel the county's progress; and

WHEREAS, the Kane County Board, composed of 24 elected members, includes eight women whose voices and perspectives play a key role in shaping policies that enhance the lives of county residents; and

WHEREAS, Kane County Government employs hundreds of women who work in leadership, administrative, and support roles, ensuring the smooth operation of county services and programs; and

WHEREAS, Kane County is also represented in the state legislature by eight women serving in the Illinois House and Senate, advocating for the interests of our community in Springfield; and

WHEREAS, women in Kane County continue to set a standard of excellence. Whether working inside the home or in fields such as education, healthcare, technology, small and large businesses, agriculture, military service, manufacturing, government or among many other professions and trades, women continue to be integral to every facet of society;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board does hereby proclaim March 2025 as National Women's History Month in Kane County, Illinois.
