Kane County Welcomes Adam Schauer as New Director of Workforce Development
The Kane County Board is pleased to announce the hiring of Adam Schauer as the new Director of Workforce Development for Kane, Kendall, and DeKalb counties.
“Adam brings more than two decades of leadership in adult and workforce education, and I’m confident his vision and expertise will elevate workforce development as we continue to expand opportunities for workers, employers and families across our region,” said Kane County Board Chairman Corinne Pierog.
Previously, Schauer served as Dean for Adult and Workforce Education at Waubonsee Community College, overseeing Adult Education, WIOA programs, Non-Credit, and Workforce Education departments. He has extensive experience in corrections education and reentry, employer outreach, grant management and career and technical education.
“I am energized by this opportunity to help develop a strong, unified, service-oriented workforce development system in Kane, Kendall, and DeKalb counties,” Schauer said. “An integrated, symbiotic system that engages employers, local government, and the community is essential to the economic prosperity of our region and the people we serve. We need to help our small businesses grow, our large employers thrive and attract new businesses and opportunities to strengthen our communities.”
About the Workforce Development Department
The Kane County Workforce Development Department provides services to prepare the workforce for employment through federally funded programs under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The program serves residents of Kane, Kendall, and DeKalb counties and is overseen by a local Workforce Development Board with representatives from across the three-county region.
Job Seeker Services:
Eligible adults can access assistance in finding new employment or enhancing their job skills.
Business Services:
The department offers recruitment assistance, workforce training grants, and other services to help local businesses build and maintain a skilled workforce.
Youth Services:
Specialized programs support youth ages 16-24 in completing high school, obtaining a GED, or entering the workforce.
