Empowering Parent and Caregiver Voices in the Children’s Mental Health System
The Kane County System of Care (KCSOC) Parent Council was recognized by the Kane County Public Health Committee for their work in the community lifting parent and caregiver voices in children’s mental health system. The Parent Council was recently selected to receive the Compañeros En Salud/Partners in Health Partner of the Year Award, which recognizes organizations that consistently support the quality of life of Hispanics and other diverse groups of the Fox Valley Area through culturally and linguistically appropriate services. Pictured here are Nelly Paredes and Claudia Serrano, Parent Council members, who shared the importance of the work of parent volunteers with board members.
