Kane County Health Department Requests Community's Help in Assessing Health Needs

Kane County Connects Staff / Kane County Health Department 10/5/2023 7:00AM

The Kane County Health Department (KCHD) is asking for the community's assistance in identifying the healthcare needs of its residents and organizations. The feedback through the 2023 Community Health Assessment survey will be used to guide KCHD's and area health agencies efforts to improve public health and wellness initiatives.

The survey at https://www.kanehealth.com/Pages/CHA2023.aspx will also produce a Community Health Improvement Plan that will help diagnose major health concerns and gaps in services that may contribute to less than optimal health status for Kane County residents. By implementing this plan, KCHD aims to better the overall health and well-being of the community.

"The Community Health Assessment is conducted every three years," said Michael Isaacson, KCHD Executive Director. "This new data helps the KCHD and other agencies adapt programming and resources to best meet the needs of Kane County residents."

The KCHD encourages as many residents as possible to participate in the survey, which takes about 15 minutes to complete. The survey is available in English and Spanish at https://www.kanehealth.com/Pages/CHA2023.aspx.

Kane County’s five hospitals, Advocate Health Care, Ascension Mercy, Ascension Saint Joseph, Northwestern Medicine/Delnor Hospital, and Rush-Copley Medical Center along with the INC Mental Health Alliance, have partnered with KCDH in developing the Community Health Assessment.
