Kane County Connects Staff 7/15/2024 11:00AM

In a move towards environmental sustainability, the Kane County Board formally adopted a Climate Action Implementation Plan on June 11, 2024.  The plan stands as a milestone in the region's commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting a cleaner future.

The kickoff meeting for people interested in helping to move the Climate Action Plan forward is scheduled for August 10, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Barbara Belding Lodge in the Brewster Creek Forest Preserve.

The Climate Action Implementation Plan will drive initiatives across various sectors including transportation, energy efficiency, waste management and community engagement. The goals of the plan are not mandated but are recommended to reduce the impacts of climate change and enhance the overall quality of life for residents.

The meeting will serve as the official launch to implementing the actionable goals of the plan. Attendees are invited to participate regardless of whether they have formally signed up for specific sectors within the plan.
