Statement Regarding 2/27/2024 Kane County Board Meeting

The Kane County Board office received numerous phone calls and emails from individuals who had been informed the Kane County Board was meeting February 27, 2024 to consider and possibly act on declaring Kane County a sanctuary county. 

This matter has not been addressed by the full board or any of its standing committees for consideration, therefore it was not on the County Board's agenda.  By law, the County Board may not vote on an issue that is not on the agenda.

The Kane County Board operates transparently, and agendas for the board's meetings are posted online 48 hours in advance for public review, and by law, remain unchanged from that point forward.
