2024 Kane County DOT Asphalt Rejuvenator Project
Kane
County has begun applying an asphalt sealer/rejuvenator on roads that
have been resurfaced within the last two years. The process involves applying the
rejuvenator liquid, allowing the liquid to cure, placing sand on the
treated roads for traction, and then sweeping up the excess material.
Pavement preservation techniques utilize lower cost maintenance
improvements conducted early in the life cycle of the asphalt pavement
by reducing the water penetration that leads to freeze/thaw damage and
preventing oxidation of the asphalt material. Please exercise caution
while traveling through the work zone, watch for equipment, workers and
stay off of the treated roadway until allowed by flaggers. The roads
included in this treatment are:
*Randall Road from 300 ft S of Main Street Rd to 250 ft N or Keslinger Rd/Kaneville Rd
*Fabyan Parkway from Main Street Rd RAB to 875 ft W of Western Ave
*Main Street Road from County Line Rd to Harter Rd
*Meredith Road from Keslinger Rd to IL Route 38
*Thatcher Road from Root Ln to Beith Rd
*W County Line Rd/Hinckley Rd/Jericho Rd from US Route 30 to 1,200 ft NW of Granart Rd
*Bunker Road from Main Street Rd to Keslinger Rd
*Main Street Road from 325 ft W of Old Bliss Rd to 2,130 ft W of Wyatt Dr
*Bliss Road from Main Street Rd RAB to 4,555 ft S of Main Street Rd RAB
Work
is expected to occur from the south end of the county progressing
north. Construction work hours will be from 7:00am until 5:00pm Monday
thru Friday for approximately three to four weeks, weather permitting.

The
above-mentioned roads will remain open during treatment, but will be
reduced to one lane of travel using flaggers and temporary daily lane
closures.
