Kane County Animal Control Pet of the Week - Karma
“You can tell by the kindness of a dog how a human should be." – Captain Beefheart (aka Don Van Vliet), American singer, songwriter, visual artist
According to Hindu universal law, karma means actions and deeds and the consequences those actions and deeds have on the world.
In the grand scheme of things, karma can be really something when it allegedly catches up with you or it can be a song by Taylor Swift, written and sung about one of her famous former relationships.
Or, better yet, Karma is a 7-month-old black and white Pit Bull-mix that came to KCAC as a stray. Maybe it was karma that led her to us. We don't know, but we do know that no matter how you look at it, when Karma enters a room her smile is the first thing you see.
And then the ear. The one that folds kind of funny and points straight ahead, while the other one just does a normal ear thing.
You can't deny the happy smiling face or the wiggly rear end. She already knows how to walk on a leash and she just loves being with whoever her people are for the day. Tell her to sit and she will. This is a dog that will enjoy getting trained, will enjoy bounding down the bunny trails during the Spring, Summer and Fall. She also seems to like other dogs, male and female alike.
As far as toys go, she's not that interested. She would much rather spend her time with humans while making sure her karma is released into the world in the hopes she will meet her future fur-ever family!
KCAC Pupdate
It was a banner week for adoptions, and we are extremely happy that so many of our former residents are now in their forever homes!
Congratulations to Wanda, the 5-month-old gray and white pit bull puppy found at an elementary school. Wanda's new family was thrilled to introduce her to their other dog who took to her as though they had lived together forever. We are immensely happy for you, Wanda! Here's wishing you a long, fun-filled life!
We also are so very happy that James, the gorgeous German Shepherd Dog, found his forever home! There were times we weren't sure if the perfect family would find him, but find him they did! And he was over the moon!
He seemed to know they were here for him, so he practically dragged them to the parking lot and as he jumped up into the backseat of the car, he barely took a look behind him. We love you, big boy!
Congratulations to Fannie Mae, the 9-month-old Pit Bull puppy abandoned in a schoolyard on Valentine's Day. She was named after the famous candy sometimes given as a gift on Cupid's personal holiday, so maybe that's why she's so sweet. Fannie Mae finally found her people and our love arrows found the happiness mark.
We hope you get all the squeaky toys and tennis balls you want for the rest of your life, Fannie!
And we are thrilled that Fluffy's owner was finally able to reclaim him. Fluffy was so excited to see his dad he wouldn't stop jumping all over him trying to lick his face and give him hugs. Congratulations, Fluffy!
