β€œThe key to a successful new relationship between a cat and human is patience." – Susan Easterly, award-winning pet writer & editor to Cat Fancy magazine

Eight years ago, April, a 10-year-old female, calico Domestic Mediumhair, came to Kane County Animal Control as a stray. She had just had kittens, all of which were born healthy. They eventually all got adopted.

As for April, she was eventually spayed, vaccinated and adopted out.

So much happened during those eight years. Suffice it to say people tend to move on, lives change and people go their separate ways. So, April came back to KCAC.

April is such a pretty girl, very sweet with almost the look and coloring of a Maine Coon. For a while, after she arrived, it seemed as though she missed her former life.

But with a lot of time and patience, she has become more confident. She still needs to be in a home with no other animals, cats or dogs, however.      April sit.jpg

She doesn't like to play much, especially with toys, but she does enjoy getting petted. Although it takes her time to warm up, once she does, she will begin to ask for cuddles and pets. Her new owners should recognize that April is willing to be the family member they've always wanted. It will just take time, patience and lots of loving.   β€‹

Oh, and don't forget lots of treats!
