Kane County Animal Control Pet of the Week - Blossom
“The best way to get a puppy is to beg for a baby brother—and they'll settle for a puppy every time." – Winston K. Pendleton, author, Complete Speaker's Galaxy of Funny Stories, Jokes, and Anecdotes
There is no doubt little Blossom, a 4-month-old spayed black and white Jack (Parson) Russell Terrier-mix, is all puppy.
Weighing just a bit over 9 pounds, Blossom could have been called “Wiggle Worm" because that's what she does the minute she meets someone—wiggle her little rear end the entire time she's receiving any kind of attention. In fact, her puppy energy switch gets flipped on and stays on morning, noon and night.
Down time? Only when she's sleeping.
Blossom loves soft toys to play with, even chases them around the room. Once she's finished playing, it's important to put any plushy toys away immediately because she will rip them up in her kennel.
Meeting other dogs gets her a little excited because she wants to play with them—she just doesn't know how. We definitely see some training in her future with her new family members!
As much as Blossom loves getting petted, she is not a big fan of getting her nails done. She can be a bit squirmy and might try a few attempts at voicing her displeasure. She obviously is too young to appreciate the finer points of having a spa day!
It's the great outdoors that keeps Blossom's interest! She's actually pretty good on a leash as she explores new territories, sniffing each rock and crevice. Long walks will tire her out and she'll be ready for some cuddle time at night after her dinner.
Blossom will make a wonderful addition to a young family with lots of energy, willing to spend some time teaching her the ropes as she grows into your 4-legged best friend.
