“Even the tiniest poodle or Chihuahua is still a wolf at heart." – Dorothy Hinshaw Patent, teacher/children's book author

She’s so small you could almost miss her if you didn’t know she was there.

At only around seven pounds, Millie—a spayed, black-and-white Chihuahua who appears to be about seven years old—is quite the little princess. She thinks she looks good in any outfit, so don’t tell her otherwise!

Found as a stray wandering the fields of Kane County, Millie enjoys meeting new people—though she’s not all that thrilled at first. It may take several encounters of her coming up to sniff you and then running away before she finally decides to take a chance on spending time with you.

And when she does? Please, pick her up and cuddle her—she’ll happily fall asleep in your arms.      Millie w sweater.jpg

When it comes to other dogs, Millie isn’t interested in engaging. However, she does get jealous if another canine is getting all the attention while she’s left out.

If confronted by a larger dog (and let’s be real—every dog is larger than Millie!), she simply ignores them, focusing instead on the person giving her attention. She’ll continue to pretend the other dog doesn’t exist until they leave—or she does.

Millie sees herself as the greatest companion a person could have, but she isn’t keen on sharing their attention. Once she decides someone is her person, she becomes highly protective—sometimes downright possessive.

She has a sweet nature but isn’t particularly generous with it. Millie really needs to go to a home with no other pets—cats or dogs.

She also seems a bit hard of hearing… or perhaps she just pretends not to hear when it suits her. Maybe that’s her way of avoiding those she doesn’t want to know!

Smart, demanding, and delightfully self-absorbed, Millie will cling to her new family like syrup on pancakes.

All she needs is someone to love her and assure her that, yes, she does look good in that dress!
