Kane County Animal Control Pet of the Week - Bambi

“If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans." James Herriot, British veterinary surgeon and author

My name is Bambi and I am adorable!

It's true! I have a face that all the girls fall in love with even though I'm only 4-months-old.

They tell me I'm a neutered black and white Pit Bull Terrier, which is cool, I guess, but I don't know what that means. I just know that I love it when I get taken for walks. I walk really good on a leash even though sometimes I pull and jump around. When the person I walk with tells me to stop pulling, I will 'cause I'm smart and I listen.

I love people the most and I like it when they squeak the squeaky toys and then throw them so I can chase after them. If I can, I like to run and play and run and play until I get tired. Then I like to sleep on top of you or by you or near someone, like when I had littermates.

Sometimes I feel all alone and wish I had my momma, but then someone at the shelter will hug me and give me kisses right on top of my nose! Then I feel like someone cares about me and I feel a little better. I still wish I had my momma around, though.

I like other dogs as long as they aren't mean to me. The bigger dogs scare me, but if I get to know them, then I like them, too! I don't get too excited about stuff, only when someone wants to play with me 'cause that means I'm going to have the best day ever!

I know I'll have to go to school because one of the other dogs told me I would have to. I hope they have fun stuff to do there. I like to learn and I'm easy to teach. Just give me hugs and lots of treats and I'll do what you tell me to do.

I just want a nice family to love me and teach me about the world. Is that you?
