Kane County Animal Control Pet of the Week - Butter Burger

Cats are connoisseurs of comfort." – James Herriot, author of All Creatures Great and Small

Each time a cat comes into Kane County Animal Control's shelter, we get another lesson on what it must be like for an abandoned animal to live out their days on the unkind streets. If it's not spayed or neutered, they either face getting pregnant or impregnating another cat. Sometimes they get sick, and they always struggle to survive.     Butter Burger1.jpg

When Butter Burger came to KCAC as a stray, she was extremely pregnant, on the brink of giving birth. Sadly, her babies didn't survive, but luckily, she did. Now, she needs a home. Now, she needs a family willing to take care of her and give her that comfortable life she should have had all along.

At about 1½-years-old, Butter Burger is not only extremely pretty, she is a very sweet and social cat. Her coloring is somewhat reminiscent of a snow leopard with her gray, tan and white short shiny fur.

She looks as though she's always grumpy but nothing could be further from the truth. Though her face doesn't show it, she is a very affectionate feline. The minute she sees someone enter the cat room, she rushes toward them so she can make herself at home on their lap and begin making “biscuits."

Everyone seems to just want to visit the younger cats, so potential adopters have come and gone, even walked right past her. No one has come to visit her. No one has picked her out as the cat they might potentially bring home.

Her one weakness is that she's not particularly a fan of other cats or dogs. However, if her new family should happen to have a very laid-back feline or a family cat that minds its own business, then she might give permission for them to share her space.

They just need to know how perfect she is. They just need to know what a great cuddle-bug she turns into as she puts her paws around your neck or makes biscuits on your lap while she eats.

The word is out! Butter Burger is ready to “make biscuits" at your house!    butter burger2.jpg
