Kane County Kids Are Headed Back to School

There are nine public school districts in Kane County. Here’s a list of the first day back to school for most students for the 2024-2025 school year:
- Batavia Public School District 101: August 14
- Central Unit School District 301: August 21
- Community Unit School District 300: August 13
- East Aurora School District 131: August 21
- Elgin School District U-46: August 13
- Geneva Community Unit School District 304: August 22
- Kaneland Community Unit School District 302: August 14
- St. Charles Community Unit School District 303: August 14
- West Aurora School District 129: August 19
The Kane County Regional Office of Education (ROE)
serves over 1,686 educators and covers 524 square miles. The ROE
acts as an advocate for education by providing leadership, coordinating,
and delivering, state and local services, such as administer High
School Equivalency Exams, provide school and home visits, license new
