Back-to-School Countdown Begins for Kane County Students
Summer is winding down, and before long, school buses will be back on the roads as thousands of Kane County students head back to the classroom.
Here's when students K-12 return for the 2026-2027 school year:

As students, teachers, and families prepare for a new school year, the Kane County Regional Office of Education (ROE) is working behind the scenes to support local schools and educators.
Serving more than 1,686 educators across 524 square miles, the ROE provides essential services that help schools succeed. From licensing new educators and administering High School Equivalency (GED) exams to conducting school and home visits, training school bus drivers, and fingerprinting educational staff, the ROE plays a vital role in supporting education throughout Kane County.
