Kane County is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 through October 15, 2025, honoring the histories, traditions, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans in the community and across the nation.

Through a proclamation, the Kane County Board highlighted the significant impact of Hispanic and Latino residents, noting their roles in business, education, public safety, civic leadership, and community life. Local celebrations such as Aurora’s Mexican Independence Day parade and festival, as well as Elgin’s many Latino cultural events and organizations, demonstrate the vibrant presence and influence of Hispanic culture throughout the county.

The proclamation also recognized the resilience, creativity, and dedication of Hispanic and Latino immigrants and families, whose cultural heritage enriches the county’s social and cultural fabric.

The Kane County Board encourages all residents to participate in honoring the achievements and contributions of Hispanic and Latino neighbors during this month-long celebration of culture, family, and community.
