Kane County Residents Eligible for New Round of Rebates for Electric Vehicles

 
The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) has announced a new round of funding, offering rebates up to $4000 to Kane County residents who purchase an electric vehicle. Applications will open from October 28^th to January 31^st, or when the IEPA exhausts the $14 million budgeted for this fiscal year. 
 
How to Qualify for the Rebate

• You must purchase either a new or used electric vehicle that costs $80,000 or less;
• The vehicle must be purchased from a dealership licensed by the Illinois Secretary of State;
• You must be the owner of the vehicle at the time the rebate is issued AND retain ownership for a minimum of 12 months;
• You must apply for the rebate within 180 days of the purchase date.

• ​The electric vehicle cannot be rented or leased;
• The electric vehicle cannot be purchased from an out-of-state dealership;
• Plug-in hybrid vehicles do not qualify for this rebate.
