Kane County Animal Control Pet of the Week - Baby Bean
“Some people say that black cats are bad luck, but I've been in love with one all my life." – Marilyn Monroe, American actress and model of the 1950s and 1960s
He appears almost magical perhaps because he's all-black with golden eyes that follow his visitor around the room. Maybe he appears to possess magical powers because his ears are upright and he looks a lot like “Baby Yoda." He seems as though he might have the answers to the greatest questions of the universe.
His name is Baby Bean, a neutered black Domestic Shorthair, and he's only 4-months-old. He truly is just a baby kitty. And, as far as we know, the only answers he might be able to come up with is where he's going to hide next.
He was found as a stray, not in a cemetery but stumbling towards a busy interstate highway. Small and vulnerable, Baby Bean was probably finding it hard to navigate the world given to him at such a young age.
Although he's just a kitten, he willingly takes cues from older cats whenever he can. It would absolutely serve Baby Bean in the best way if his new fur-ever family already has a feline in the home, one that isn't afraid to offer him some cat-friendly advice whenever he needs it.
To say he's a lively kitten is an understatement. His over-the-top energy level is kind of on par with having a few fun-loving, uninvited demons playing havoc in the house. He enjoys being sneaky, then jumping out at the person when they least expect it after he makes sure they're watching him.
Cuddles and naps will have to wait until he can't stand up any more or after he's just plain worn out from doing zoomies down the hall or scaring his new feline brother or sister.
Baby Bean doesn't have magical powers. He's not a sorcerer or a shape shifting being that happens to look like a cat. He's just a kitten that found himself on the outside of life for a while, looking in, waiting for his life to change, waiting for his forever home.
