Roadway Striping Ahead: Kane County's Pavement Marking Program Begins August 4

Kane County Division of Transportation - Kane County Connects Staff 7/28/2025 9:00AM

Kane County’s annual pavement marking program kicks off the week of August 4, weather permitting. Crews will repaint lane markings on approximately 236 miles of rural County highways to enhance safety and visibility.

Work will occur weekdays from 7 AM to 5 PM, starting in the north and moving south, with temporary lane closures and flagger control at intersections. Motorists are urged to slow down, watch for crews and equipment, and use caution—especially around freshly painted areas. The project is expected to wrap up by the end of September.

Visit the Kane County Division of Transportation Traffic Advisories webpage for more information on road closures, detours, and active KDOT projects.

Motorists should expect delays while traveling through the work areas, consider alternate routes and expect additional commute time. Motorists are asked to reduce their speed, watch for construction workers and vehicles entering and leaving the site and obey flaggers and traffic control devices. It is illegal to talk or text on a cell phone while driving.
