Bliss/Main/Fabyan Intersection Reconstruction Project Update

ROAD CLOSURE: Bliss Road will closed October 16, 2023 to through traffic from Seavey Road to Main Street Road until the end of November 2023, weather permitting. A posted detour will be in place utilizing Healy Road, Tanner Road, Orchard Road, Randall Road and Main Street Road. While closed to through traffic, this section of road will remain open to local traffic only.

 

This road closure will expedite construction, allow crews safer access to the site while protecting the public by distancing them from the work and is part of the continued construction for the Bliss Road, Main Street Road and Fabyan Parkway Intersection Reconstruction Improvement project. 

ROAD OPENING:  Kane County wishes to thank you for your patience and understanding during the recent temporary Main Street Road closure. We are happy to announce that Main Street Road will be open to traffic from Bliss Road to Wyatt Drive on October 16, 2023, weather permitting.

 

The Bliss/Main/Fabyan project consists of a new road alignment, roundabout construction, roadway widening, resurfacing, lighting, drainage, and landscape restoration which will increase safety and traffic flow operations through the intersection. The anticipated completion date for the project is November 2023, weather permitting.

Motorists should expect delays while traveling through the work areas, consider alternate routes and expect additional commute time. Motorists are asked to reduce their speed, watch for construction workers and vehicles entering and leaving the site and obey flaggers and traffic control devices. It is illegal to talk or text on a cell phone while driving.
