Kane County Division of Transporation to begin Keslinger Road Construction Sept. 2nd

Kane County Connects Staff - KDOT media release 8/28/2025 2:00AM

The Kane County Division of Transporation will begin earthmoving operations and roadway construction on Keslinger Road the week of Sept. 2, 2025, weather permitting. This work is part of the planned construction of the new intersection at Keslinger and Bunker Roads, scheduled for 2026.

The first phase will involve large highway quarry trucks crossing Keslinger Road at Bunker Road. Traffic will be stopped periodically by flaggers to allow trucks to cross safely. This activity will take place during off-peak commuter hours, Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and is expected to last approximately four weeks. Morning commuters traveling to the train station will be watched for and given preference during operations.

Following this phase, crews will begin installing new storm sewer lines across Keslinger Road at the same location. This work will require temporary daily lane closures, also during off-peak hours, and is expected to take an additional two to three weeks to complete.

Drivers should anticipate delays while traveling through the area and are encouraged to allow extra time for their commutes. Please reduce your speed, watch for construction workers and vehicles entering or leaving the site, obey flaggers, and follow all posted traffic control signs. Motorists may also want to consider alternate routes while this work is underway.

Visit KDOT's Traffic Advisories webpage for more information on road closures, detours, and active KDOT projects.

Motorists should expect delays while traveling through the work areas, consider alternate routes and expect additional commute time. Motorists are asked to reduce their speed, watch for construction workers and vehicles entering and leaving the site and obey flaggers and traffic control devices. It is illegal to talk or text on a cell phone while driving.
