The American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois (ACEC Illinois) has honored the state's most outstanding engineering achievements of 2025 at its annual Engineering Excellence Awards. These awards celebrate projects that demonstrate innovation, complexity, exceptional design, and economic impact.
This year's highest honor, the Lincoln Grand Conceptor Award, was awarded to the Kane County Division of Transportation and its lead consulting firm for their work on the Longmeadow Parkway Bridge Corridor.
About the Longmeadow Parkway Project:
- $200 million infrastructure investment in Kane County, IL.
- 5.6-mile, four-lane highway with a 788-foot bridge over the Fox River.
- Provides a vital multi-modal connection for the growing communities in western metropolitan Chicago.
- One of the largest infrastructure projects in Kane County history, requiring over a decade of planning and collaboration with multiple communities and agencies.
