Kane County Animal Control Adoptable Pet of the Week - Bonnie
“The cat does not offer services. The cat offers itself." – William S. Burroughs, American author & visual artist
Without further ado, heeeeere's Bonnie!
She's a year-and-5-months-old, spayed female brown Domestic Shorthair that was owner surrendered.
Bonnie is a little actress. She knows how to pull you in with her moonbeams for eyes and charm the heck out of you with her antics of rolling around on your lap, meowing and asking for pets. Her bright golden eyes hold court with whoever gives her their time.
She originally was a kitten of the streets and somehow wound up getting adopted. Until recently, she was living in the comfort of a home with a family. Everything fell apart through no fault of her own, and Bonnie was surrendered to KCAC.
Once you're in her presence, she hardly has to utter even a purr or a meow for everyone to see that she's definitely the sweetest feline this side of fantastic!
She takes her time to get to know other cats, maybe due to her being front paw declawed. Her defenses are probably a bit heightened. After a few slow introductions, however, she should probably settle in just fine.
She likes toys, enjoys her toys, especially if she can chase them around the floor. Getting a good pet is also on her daily list of 'To-Dos' as long as it's not too much or too long. She'll let you know when to stop, but you might want to end the session before that.
Bonnie is looking to continue her diva-ness within the confines of a family that will adapt to her idiosyncrasies. She is all about making an impression on potential adopters. It's easy to tell that she enjoys hanging out with people more than other felines.
If you're not afraid of getting a cat that has a personality all her own and probably sees her potential family as “her staff," then Bonnie is just the one for you.
KCAC Updates
A big, hearty congratulations to Robert, the 3-year-old black Domestic Shorthair cat found on the mean streets and brought to KCAC!
He had been here since January of this year, but everyone kept crossing their fingers that the right family would find him. Although he was a little battle-weary, he still seemed full of hope every time someone came to look at cats.
Always the first cat to run to the door to greet whoever entered the cat room, Robert finally found his people and, according to them, he's already taken over their home! He's lying down with the dog, taking pictures with the kids with his tongue out and has explored as many places as he could in just a few hours.
Live long and proud, Robert!
