“Actually, my dog I think is the only person who consistently loves me all the time.” – H.G. Bissinger, American journalist & author, Friday Night Lights

He already has a record with the South Elgin police department and he’s not even 6-months-old! Actually, he’s just 12-weeks-old and was found as a stray, running as fast as his little legs could carry him.

It’s a big world out there and he’s only a baby. Certainly, he must wonder in his little puppy head why he got dropped off into unfamiliar territory. Why was he abandoned? Why is he alone?   Pretzel2.jpg

His name is Pretzel and he’s a tan and black mix of something. Getting his breed right is rather difficult to ascertain, but he could be part Chihuahua, part German Shepherd. We won’t run to the bank on that one. Seriously, we’re not sure. What we are sure of is that Pretzel is every which way extremely cute, underbite and all, with a personality to match.

He may not approach you right away. He might run in the other direction when he first sees you, but that’s probably because he’s a little traumatized from his earlier adventures.

Eventually, his curiosity gets the better of him and he will keep approaching you until he’s sitting on your lap or all cuddled up in your arms. Pretzel finds other dogs interesting and he really wants to play with them. If another canine isn’t interested in him, however, he doesn’t push the point.

When he saw another little dog at the shelter, he really wanted to play with him. They shared toys and ran around as though they had been friends forever. Pretzel even shared his squeaky toys with him.

Because he’s a puppy, he has a lot of energy. He wants to play, play and then play some more, but he will settle down if everyone he’s with is also low key. He should be pretty easy to train because he takes his cues from whomever is with him. We may not know what breed of dog he is, but Pretzel is such a sweet puppy, the perfect companion no matter what kind of dog he is.

KCAC Pupdates Congratulations to Jasper, the white and brown overly energetic Pit Bull that came to KCAC when he was not even a year old! It seemed as though he was going to be a permanent fixture at KCAC because he kept getting passed over by possible adopters. But finally, finally someone saw his true potential and he is now living his best life. We are so excited for him and his squishable, kissable face as well as his love of squeaky toys. As much as we will miss him, we are so proud of his resilience and staying power in waiting until his forever family came to get him. Happy life, sweet boy!
