The National Weather Service Confirms Tornado in Kane County Nov. 5

An NWS Damage Survey confirmed an EF-0 tornado with peak winds of 80 mph, path length of 3.7 miles, and maximum width of 100 yards touched down during the morning of 11/5/2022 near Big Rock, IL. The tornado was spawned by a thin line of showers along a cold front. Damage along the path of the tornado was characterized by downed trees and tree limbs, though the roof of a barn was damaged and at least one power pole was snapped.
