The Kane County Board has proclaimed November 4–11, 2025, as Veterans’ Week in Kane County, honoring the men and women who have bravely served in the United States Armed Forces.

The proclamation recognizes the sacrifices and contributions of the 16,000-plus veterans who call Kane County home, acknowledging their vital role in preserving the freedoms and way of life enjoyed by all Americans.

Veterans continue to serve the community through organizations such as the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, AMVETS, Vietnam Veterans of America, Marine Corps League, and the Navy Club of the United States, all of which maintain an active presence throughout Kane County.

The County also expressed appreciation for the work of the Veterans Assistance Commission of Kane County, which helps ensure local veterans and their families receive the benefits they’ve earned.

The observance coincides with the National Association of Counties’ Operation Green Light for Veterans, a nationwide initiative encouraging residents to display a green light in their homes or businesses as a visible show of support.

The Kane County Government Center and the Kane County Courthouse, both in Geneva, will be illuminated in green.

Kane County residents are invited to participate by shining a green light from November 4–11 to honor and thank those who have served our nation in uniform.
