There was a fitting tribute to Kane County Sheriff K-9 Hudson, attended by several hundred people, elected officials, and law enforcement officers from all over the state.
The memorial service was held on Thursday June 1, in the gymnasium of Kaneland Harter Middle School in Sugar Grove.
K-9 Hudson, died in the line of duty on May 24 while assisting in the apprehension of an armed suspect.
The bleachers were filled with individuals of all ages, who watched as over a hundred K-9's and their handlers walked to the front the gymnasium where there were flower displays, K-9 Hudson's picture and his collar.
There was short video of Hudson showing him at home with his handler and on the job while training.
Kane County Sheriff Ron Hain remembered K-9 Hudson for his dedication to service.
βLet us remember Hudson for what he represents to all of what law enforcement should be: loyalty, commitment, love when love is needed, aggression when aggression is needed and unstoppable courage," said Sheriff Hain.
The service concluded with a vehicle precession from the middle school back to the Sheriff's office. β
