Kane County’s Recycling Center at 517 E. Fabyan Parkway in Geneva is temporarily closed for repaving and improvements, with reopening anticipated in mid-November. In the meantime, Kane County and eWorks will offer pop-up recycling events from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 27 through Nov. 12, at 703 E. Fabyan Parkway, just east of the center. Residents can drop off accepted electronics, clothing, shoes, textiles, books and paper. Most items are free, but fees apply to televisions and computer monitors. Cardboard, batteries, scrap metal and other select items will not be accepted during the pop-ups. For accepted items and updates, visit the Kane County Recycling website.
