.What Can Be Recycled?
The program accepts rigid plastic campaign signs made from corrugated polypropylene, typically about one-quarter inch thick. Signs made from plastic film or marked No. 4 (LDPE) are not accepted in this program but may be taken to participating grocery or retail store drop-off locations that collect plastic bags and film.
Before dropping off signs, residents should:
- Check with local candidates or campaigns to see whether signs will be collected for reuse.
- Verify that signs are made from an accepted recyclable material.
- Separate signs from metal stands and remove zip ties and other fasteners.
- Bring signs and metal stands to one of the designated locations during the applicable collection dates and hours.
The program helps residents dispose of eligible campaign materials responsibly and supports the county's ongoing recycling efforts.
