Generous Gift Creates Opportunity for a New Community-Friendly Initiative at Kane County Animal Control
Kane County Animal Control (KCAC) has received a generous $10,000 donation from the estate of the late Sylvia Snyder, who passed away in 2023.
KCAC Executive Director Brett Youngsteadt says his team envisions using the funds to benefit both animals and the community.
“We want to use this money give back to the community in a meaningful way," said Youngsteadt. “We would really like to install a water fountain for dogs outside the KCAC facility in Geneva."
Located near a popular trail connected to Peck Farm, the KCAC facility at 4060 Keslinger Road in Geneva often sees dog walkers stopping by. Staff frequently bring out bowls of water for thirsty pups, and the addition of a dedicated watering station would provide a much-needed convenience for pet owners.
The proposed water fountain would feature a plaque honoring Sylvia Snyder's generosity, ensuring her legacy continues to benefit the community and its four-legged residents.
