Kane County Ranked Among Nation's Top Counties for Business Growth and Investment
Kane County has been recognized as one of America's leading destinations for business growth, earning the No. 17 ranking nationally in Site Selection magazine's July edition list of the top U.S. counties by total corporate expansion projects completed between January 2025 and March 2026.
The recognition places Kane County among the nation's top 20 counties for business investment and job creation. The rankings are compiled by Site Selection, a nationally recognized publication covering corporate expansion, economic development and site selection.
Kane County was also one of only two Illinois counties to make the top 20, joining Cook County.

Strategically located in the Chicago metropolitan region, Kane County offers businesses direct access to major interstate highways, freight rail networks and O'Hare International Airport, connecting companies to regional, national and global markets.

- Population: More than 521,000 residents
- Workforce: Approximately 254,000 skilled workers
- 8.75 million square feet of available industrial space
The recognition also reflects the ongoing work of the Kane County Economic Development Corporation (Kane County EDC), which partners with businesses, municipalities and regional organizations to strengthen the county's economy.
