The Kane County Division of Transportation thanks motorists for their patience as LaFox Road between Keslinger Road and IL Route 38 has reopened to traffic, on schedule, with a new lane configuration in place. The new curved alignment accommodates necessary stormwater detention and will help traffic flow more efficiently to the Metra station once the full project is complete.
Looking ahead, work planned for 2026 will shift traffic onto the newly constructed portions of Bunker Road north of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks. This temporary routing will allow crews to close the Keslinger Road and Bunker Road intersection to construct the new roundabout.
Throughout all phases of construction, commuters traveling to the Metra station will continue to have access. Traffic control measures will be adjusted as needed to give priority to train-station traffic during peak rush hours.
Visit the KDOT Traffic Advisories webpage for more information on road closures, detours, and active KDOT projects. Motorists should expect delays while traveling through the work areas, consider alternate routes and expect additional commute time. Motorists are asked to reduce their speed, watch for construction workers and vehicles entering and leaving the site and obey flaggers and traffic control devices. It is illegal to talk or text on a cell phone while driving. |
