Kane County Recognizes Excellence in Engineering and Contracting with Annual Awards
The Kane County Division of Transportation (KDOT) is recognizing outstanding achievements in engineering and contracting by highlighting three companies that have contributed to projects benefiting the citizens of Kane County. Two of these awards were announced during the Kane County Transportation Committee meeting in December, while the third was presented at the Illinois Road and Transportation Builders Association’s (IRTBA) Annual Awards Banquet. These awards celebrate firms and individuals who have demonstrated exceptional work and dedication to advancing key infrastructure projects in Kane County.
Contractor of the Year – Curran Contracting Company
Curran Contracting Company received the Contractor of the Year award for their exemplary work on the Dauberman Road Extension and Grade Separation project. Despite challenging site topography and the complexities of constructing bridges over both US 30 and the BNSF Railroad, Curran partnered with County staff to enhance the design and improve area drainage. Led by Superintendent Scott Botterman, the team delivered a high-quality project ahead of schedule.
E1/2 Consultant of the Year – Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc.
Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc. (CMT) was recognized as the E1/2 Consultant of the Year for their design work on Section C of the Longmeadow Parkway. This section includes the mainline roadway from IL 31 to IL 25, the Fox River bridge, and environmental permitting for the entire corridor. Project Manager Kelly Farley and Project Engineer Jeff Sedig led the development of an innovative and much-needed river crossing in northern Kane County. KDOT extends gratitude to CMT for their expertise and dedication.
E3 Consultant of the Year – Wight & Company Wight & Company earned the E3 Consultant of the Year award for their work on the Dauberman Road Extension contract. Their dedication, passion, and work ethic saved the County time and money on this vital project. KDOT especially thanks Jeff Kiedaisch and the Wight team for their attention to detail, extensive knowledge, and delivery of a high-quality, aesthetically pleasing product for Kane County residents.
