Kane County Animal Control Pet of the Week - Mims

She’s white and black. She’s a spayed Domestic Longhair. Her age is hard to tell, but she’s probably about 1-year and 7-months-old. These might be the basic facts, but there is so much more to this special white and black kitty than meets the eye. 

First of all, she came to KCAC as a stray along with her 7 kittens. Barely one-year-old herself, she was already a mom trying to take care of her brood by herself. It is finally her turn to start enjoying being the special baby in her new home. 

When she arrived at KCAC, staff gave her the name of Mims. She is a very sweet-natured 1-year-and-7-month-old Domestic Longhair feline. She has two golden eyes in her otherwise white face with some black that spreads over her nose and dribbles down to her top lip. Her mouth and chin are also outlined in black, as though the designer, as an afterthought, wanted to finish up the remainder of the color. 

Not only does Mims have the softest fur around, she is also a very likeable, very sweet natured and an extremely good momma. Mim’s seven kittens are now up for adoption, as well. She’s not a cat that necessarily enjoys playing with toys. However, she will play if enticed, but her true, overall motivation is finding and eating food. In fact, she’s so food-orientated that she will try to steal it if it’s nearby. 

Momma Mims is very social and gets along with just about everyone, including men, women and other cats. She loves head and chin scratches and is very curious about things like cat towers and scratching posts that might be in her immediate vicinity. She also likes to sing and share her opinions with whoever will listen. Even though she had a difficult start in life, 

Mims is definitely ready to share her life with a new family.

All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccines including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm. 

 

Kane County Animal ControlThe adoption fee for dogs is $200 and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300 and it is $150 to adopt two cats.
