Kane County recently honored employees whose longevity spans 10, 20, 30, and 40 or more years of service with a milestone ceremony and token of appreciation. At any given time, Kane County employs an average of 1,300 people.

Many of these employees have spent their entire careers with Kane County. Four of the individuals who will be recognized have been with the County for 40 years or more, including one individual who has worked for the County for nearly 50 years.

Hamid Ahmed: 47 years (Development Department) “Hamid Ahmed has been serving as a dedicated and valuable member of the Development Department for the past 47 years, the longest of any current employee of Kane County,” said Mark VanKerkhoff, Director of the Kane County Development & Community Services Department. “Educated as an architect in India, Hamid and his wife, Mazher, immigrated to the United States, set up their home in Batavia, and eventually both came to work for Kane County. Hamid and Mazher started the Fox Valley Muslim Community Center in 1977, first meeting in their home, and currently as the Batavia Islamic Center at the Calvary Episcopal Church in Batavia. Hamid serves a project manager and building inspector specializing in historic and damaged homes needing rehabilitation as well as works with GIS in assigning rural addresses. Hamid is loved and respected for his historical knowledge of the Development Department, his kind heart, and his attitude of helpfulness with his team and the public,” said VanKerkhoff.  (Photo below from L-R HR Executive Director Jamie Lobrillo, Director Development & Community Services Dept. Linda Hagemann: 42 years (State’s Attorney’s Office) “As a young Assistant State’s Attorney, I quickly came to value the knowledge that Linda had at the office and her willingness to help our staff, the officers and the victims in our cases, said Jamie Mosser, Kane County State’s Attorney. “As the elected State’s Attorney, I knew that she would continue to give her all as an advocate and our police liaison. She has changed the lives of so many because her heart is in making a difference in this community. I truly do not know what this office would look like without Linda here. I am lucky to not only call her a member of the State’s Attorney’s Office but also my friend,” said Mosser.

Ann Lambert: 41 years (Circuit Clerk’s Office) “Ann has dedicated herself to the Circuit Clerk’s office over the past 41 years as both a Supervisor and Manager of our Family and Civil teams,” said Theresa Barreiro, Kane County Circuit Clerk. “Known as a child support expert, in the office, Ann gets asked many questions regarding the recordkeeping for this area. More recently, Ann has returned to her role as Customer Service Manager for the Circuit Clerk’s office. She prides herself in teaching our employees the proper methods of delivering great service to all of our customers in an environment where customers don’t really want to be dealing with the Circuit Clerk’s office. She is a visionary and problem solver looking for solutions to best assist the customer. The Circuit Clerk’s office thanks Ann for her 41 years of service to Circuit Clerk customers and the citizens of Kane County,” said Barreiro. Jeffrey Bumbar: 40 years (Sheriff’s Office) “Jeff Bumbar has been a solid cornerstone of, not just the Sheriff’s Fleet Management Division, but the entire Sheriff’s Office for 40 years,” said Ron Hain, Kane County Sheriff. “His dedicated commitment to us has kept generations of deputies safe and rolling so they can protect our community to their best ability. We congratulate our dear KCSO family member, Jeff, for his decades of exemplary service,” said Hain.

The County also recognized four employees who are marking 30 years of employment, 16 with 20 years and 27 with 10 years.

A special thanks to Arica Rosa, in Kane County Human Resources, for planning the event and to WalMart who donated the food.
