Patrick Kane's Indirect Ties to Kane County

Kane County Connects Staff 3/1/2023 3:00PM

While hockey superstar Patrick Kane (recently traded to the New York Rangers) has no known professional ties directly to Kane County, the team he used to play for does.   The Blackhawks are an official partner with the Chicago Steel Hockey Team.  The club's home ice is at the Fox Valley Ice Arena, located on Kirk Road in Geneva.   The facility houses two indoor ice rinks including an NHL regulation size rink and offers a wide variety of skating programs that teach kids how to play hockey.

Chicago Steel Hockey Team plays in the United States Hockey League (USHL).  In 2021 they crushed the competition and went on to claim the championship Clark Cup.

According to their website, USHL is the nation's only Tier 1 junior hockey league. Players ranging from 16 to 20 years old make up the rosters of the League's 16 Member Clubs. The USHL had 57 players selected in the 2022 NHL Draft.
