This holiday season, Kane County Veterans and their families received a financial gift through a program led by the Kane County Sheriff’s Office and Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge #14. Since 2015, FOP Lodge #14 has partnered with the Kane County Veterans Assistance Commission (VAC) to identify and assist Veterans in need during the holidays.

This year, the program benefited eight Veterans and their families.

The Kane County VAC provides year-round support to Veterans and their dependents, helping them secure the benefits they have earned through their military service.

John Stoffa, who retired after 30 years with the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, highlighted the FOP’s long-standing tradition of service to the community. "The FOP has been assisting Veterans, the economically disadvantaged, and the homeless in our area since the 1960s," Stoffa said.

At the Kane County VAC offices in the Government Center in Geneva, Stoffa distributed nearly $6,000 in financial assistance along with words of gratitude to Veterans in need.
