Milestone Birthday

We normally don't talk about the ages of Kane County Board members, but in this case, we'll make an exception.  County Board member Dale Berman, during the December meeting of the County Board, outed himself by announcing that he will be turning 90 this month.

“Some of you think I'm 70, some of you think I'm 170. But the truth is I'm turning 90," said Berman, to which the response was “well done and congratulations," by fellow board members.

Berman's longevity, according to his resume, has included decades of public service starting with the U-S Army. He has been a resident of North Aurora for 58 years, served as Mayor and is currently  on the Kane County Board.  He has also offered his time and energy to multiple community planning boards, foundations and service clubs. 

One piece of Kane County trivia dates back more than 40 years during Berman's time as an IBM Engineer and salesman.  Berman sold and installed Kane County's first computer system at the Circuit Clerk's office.
