Kane County Health Department Hosts COVID Vax Clinic Sunday, Jan. 16, at Spring Hill Mall

The Kane County Health Department announces that the Illinois Department of Public Health will hold another COVID vaccination walk-in clinic from10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, at Spring Hill Mall, 1072 Spring Hill Mall Drive in West Dundee.

The clinic will be held in the former Payless shoe store near the Kohl’s entrance. No appointment is necessary, but the public can pre-register for an appointment at KaneVax.org.

All three COVID vaccines, Pfizer, Moderna and Janssen, will be available for adults 18 and older. The Pfizer vaccine will be available for persons 12 and older. To speed the check-in process for booster shots, make sure to bring your vaccination card. People should talk to their healthcare provider about their medical condition, and whether getting an additional dose is appropriate for them.

The CDC allows for the mixing and matching of the type of vaccine.

  • Individuals over 18 who received the Janssen primary dose may receive a booster of Janssen, Moderna or Pfizer/Comirnaty two months after their primary dose.
  • Individuals over 18 who received the Moderna primary series may receive a booster of Janssen, Moderna or Pfizer/Comirnaty five months after their last dose.
  • Individuals over 18 who received the Pfizer/Comirnaty primary series may receive a booster of Janssen, Moderna or Pfizer/Comirnaty five months after their last dose.
  • Individuals 12 to 17 who received the Pfizer/Comirnaty primary series may receive a booster of Pfizer/Comirnaty five months after their last dose.
