Valley Industrial Association has announced its expansion of manufacturing workforce development by acquiring the Golden Corridor Advanced Manufacturing Partnership, or GCAMP, a non-profit 501c3 organization that works with schools to promote manufacturing careers and to create a sustainable manufacturing workforce.
Rebranded as the GREATER CHICAGO Advanced Manufacturing Partnership, the organization will now serve the expanded area under the VIA.
Kathleen Burley, executive director of GCAMP and the new vice president of Education & Workforce Development for VIA, states that the additional support with VIA will strengthen the developing workforce initiatives in the region.
Kathy Gilmore, president of Valley Industrial Association, said she is excited to have GCAMP as part of the VIA family.
“Our mission is to help companies through their challenges, and workforce is one of their biggest challenges,” Gilmore said. “We are looking forward to bringing what GCAMP is doing in the Golden Corridor to the larger area that VIA serves.”
