For the first time in nearly a decade, the St. Charles History Museum is holding a festive Holiday Gala Fundraiser on Dec. 10, 2021, at the Dunham Woods Riding Club.
The event is open to the public and dinner reservations are now being accepted.
St. Charles History Museum President Mike Corbett said seating is limited, and reservations are getting snapped up quickly.
“It just felt like what the St. Charles community needed was a celebration after all of the effort put into protecting our community from this pandemic this past year and more,” he said. “And we’re very excited to have Kane County Judge Elizabeth Flood as our honorary chairperson for this event.”
The Holiday Gala Fundraiser will celebrate the theme “It’s A Wonderful Life In St. Charles” and includes a cocktail reception, cash bar, three-course meal, dessert/coffee bar, live entertainment, and a 50-50 raffle drawing. Holiday festive attire is requested. For everyone’s comfort and safety, attendees are asked to be fully vaccinated.
Holiday Gala reservations are now open, and the cost is $125 per person. Tables for eight and 10 are available, as well. Reservations may be made at https://stcmuseum.org/holidaygala.
Valet parking is being sponsored by The Audi Exchange of St. Charles, and the dessert bar is sponsored by Mason, Faith and Hoscheit, DDS, Ltd. Other sponsors include Kathy Brens In Memory Of Jack, Edward Jones Financial Advisor Mike Corbett, Yurs Funeral Home, West Valley Graphics, and other anonymous donors.
An after-dinner festive music program that will put all in a very nostalgic mood will be provided by award-winning vocalist Maureen Christine, a Grammy nominated national recording artist.
Christine has sung for Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, opened for Helen Reddy and Willie Nelson, and shared the stage with Barry Manilow. She won first place in the nation for the song she wrote and sang for United Way, and she’s an exclusive artist on the Illinois Arts Council Artstour Roster.
For this event, Christine will be joined by Michael Bazan and quartet. She will bring her “crystal clear voice with a warm and genuine personality” to songs from and Inspired by the movie, “It’s A Wonderful life.” Holiday favorites, nostalgic classics, and of course classic swing!
There will also be some surprises, including a special performance by local actor Daniil Krimer, artistic director at Kane County Repertory Theatre.
